Easter Egg Painting!!

- I wouldn't reccommend painting the chocolate ones! :D

Gathered from the website: http://www.kidzworld.com/article/26746-how-to-paint-easter-eggs

Think this is so adorable! :D <3 and adding them emoji's and smilies on to it too hehe!

HOW TO PAINT EASTER EGGS:

Easter is coming, which means lots of chocolate, crafting and Easter activities - like decorating your very own Easter eggs! Painting Easter eggs is a great way to celebrate the spring season, whether you do it with your whole class or at home with friends and family. Find out how to paint Easter eggs!

Eggs-ellent Art!

Painting Easter eggs is fun and easy to do, lots of people buy egg decorating kits, but what most people don't know is that you can make beautiful Easter eggs with supplies out of your own cupboard. Take a look!

What You'll Need:

  • White eggs
  • Saucepan
  • Food Coloring
  • Vinegar
  • Tape or rubber bands
  • Tongs or a slotted spoon
  • Empty egg carton
  • Old clothes or an apron
  • Newspapers

Optional:

  • White wax crayon
  • Stickers

Get Cracking

Once you've gathered your supplies, it's time to get cracking making your own beautifully designed Easter eggs. But before you can start dipping, you'll need to start by prepping:
Step 1: Fill saucepan with water, place on the stove and add your eggs. Bring water to a boil and then reduce the heat and let the eggs simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add cold water to stop the eggs from cooking - you may need to ask your parents or teacher to help with this part.
Step 2: Make sure you're wearing an apron or old clothes, because this is one Easter activity that can get messy. Also place old newspapers over the area you'll painting on.
Step 3: Fill cups halfway with hot water, add 1 teaspoon of vinegar and one teaspoon of food coloring, one for each color you want to use.

Design and Dip

Here comes the fun part! Once your eggs and dye are ready, you can simply place the egg in the color you want, leave it for 5 minutes and when you lift it out with your tongs you will have a perfectly dyed egg! But that's not all, before you start dipping, there are lots of different ways to create different patterns with your eggs, here are just a few ideas that you can mix and match!

Easter Egg kits come with dye tablets, but you can use plain old food coloring
  • Using a white crayon, write a message or draw a design on the egg before you dip it - when it comes out of the dye the wax will remain white, highlighting the design  against the colored background.
  • You can create stripey designs on your egg by placing rubber bands or tape around your egg before dipping, when you raise it from the dye and remove the bands your egg will have stripes where the bands were!
  • If you place a sticker on the egg before dipping and remove it once it comes out, the shape of the sticker will stand out against the background, try using a star, a fruit or heart if you have it.
  • Once you've lifted your eggs from the dye, place them gently in the empty egg carton to dry. Once they're dry you can hide them for a hunt, place them in a decorative basket, or if you're really hungry, eat them!
Has anyone tried this method?? And what is your method? How do you do them? What else do you do? Let me know!

Blessings, Rae

Easter / Eostre / Ostara (Pagan Roots)

NOTE: I am merely copy and pasting a story/information from one website to my blog this is not my own wording but of another, as part of one of my many beliefs.

Here are some of the links I have found regarding Easter / Ostara that many might not have heard before. There are of course Passover and many more that are obviously out there to many other religions.

The pagan roots of Easter / Ostara Articles...

16 'R.A.O.K' Letters

16 Random Acts Of Kindness Letters!

So Today and Yesterday I sent 16 Random Letters to complete strangers either left at  the table on a coffee shop, left on a shelf in the local supermarket or through peoples doors. Hoping that is that they don't take it too personally!

Let me know if you recieved one! :D

All it really was, was to say HAPPY EASTER and also to my blog readers to do as well as leaving little tea bags of my favourite teas in along with the letter enclosed! I wonder how many of the letters will actually be read, sometimes it does get me thinking how many people will do the #Payitforwards then somehow if I hear about it.  Or does that sound awful wanting to know!? Not that I am meaning to be rude!

With tomorrow being Easter Sunday everywhere mostly with the Christians amongst us and Ostara for the Pagans and others, Passover for some and I am yet to figure out what the meaning of Easter or Ostara or Eostre as in the Goddess Eostre I will do a further post about her! :D

Please if you are commenting please refrain from abusive comments as I will have to delete them, I had them sadly once on another blog I did and also on youtube which I have had to stop!

Lastly though have a great Easter and Blessed Ostara everyone!

My book crossing profile - PICS TO FOLLOW!

- As put on www.bookcrossing.com

Hello!

My name is Rae, I live in the North of England and amongst several of my insanely / crazy hobbies is Rescuing Books and putting them on Book Crossing!

If you've ever found one of the books I've left out in local towns, cities or the odd times I've been on holiday. It's mostly because I like to do something called 'Book Rescuing'!  I work at a local charity shop close by where I live and rescue chucked out books and attempt to fix them all up and put them out with book crossing!  Also people sometimes give me their old books to do what I wish with them on here too! I have a blog not just for books but also for my love of tea so do have a look if you can. :)

Then again I myself seem to have more books then I know what to do with, so many will go on a wild release and see where they end up! I cant wait for people to share their tales!

So hopefully along with my many blog posts I will upload the pictures of me putting them all out! :) Bright Blessings, Rae. (The Crazy Random Brit ;) )

How to get around London

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlZ_xDx2Zl0&feature=share

Personally I’d go for the pay as u go Oyster card. If you have a free bus pass use it instead. Just use Oyster on tube. Do not use your debit or credit card. That way you know what you’re balance is that you need to pay afterwards!! If you use your debit or credit cards like me and my mum did you end up not knowing till ages after what or how much you spent!!

Get a card wallet so you don’t lose your cards. Trust me you’re not on your own even Brits feel bloody anxious when walking around London lol!!

ElfQuest

AYYOOOAHHHH! ... ElfQuest...

Elfquest Artwork

Well, if you didn't already know what ElfQuest is go and view www.elfquest.com one of my favourite Graphic Novelisations I've ever come across on this mad crazy world of ours!
Created by Wendy and Richard Pini in 1978, 40 years to today (1st March 2018) it has been one of the longest running Fantasy Graphic Novels there has every been.

The last issue of the Final Quest put most and even myself and many fans into tears and seeing our beloved charecters be killed off... in all sorts of ways.
This is by no means a children's novel so don't you dare mistake it for that, although many kids do read it and im sure not just over there in the states!

According to their website ElfQuest or EQ is:

Elfquest is the ongoing tale of Cutter and the Wolfriders, a tribe of feral, forest-dwelling elves.

They are descended from shapeshifting aliens who crashed thousands of years ago on a nameless world they now call the World of Two Moons. The elves struggle to remain true to their nature-loving ways, but they are constantly tested - from without by an ever-growing human population, and by change and strife within their own ranks.
It is a saga four decades in the telling. Fully explore the epic-sized world of Elfquest and you will find your views of modern society mirrored, your prejudices challenged, and your understanding of relationships – of all kinds – forever changed.

With also an on going fanbase on Facebook, twitter and instagram. Why not come and howl and be free with us online! . Thank you Wendy and Richard for a brilliant 40 years saga!

- Rae.
