Operation Tea Bags!

Ok, RAKtivists and Readers!

Today I did 17 Random Acts of kindness in the forms of letters to strangers and tea bags in envelopes.  Just now waiting to hear back form one of the 17, or if anyone does.  Here's what I wrote as I dropped them off in letterboxes whilst on my rounds doing Avon.  Ok, so I don't put my avon as well, I like to keep them separate unless a new customer comes up of course...  let me know how this sounds or if you got one? I don't mind my personal email on or at least my P O BOX... send me mail if you wish! I like postcards! :D

*Random Act Of Kindness

Dear Recipient,

Ok, I don’t think we’ve met before, we may have passed in the street sometime in this town or another.
I’m doing a Random Acts Of Kindness (R.A.O.K’S) project to help the world and also doing it along many
of my pen friends.  They set me a challenge to do as many Random Acts as I can.  One of them being this
distributing tea bags to people, Ok. I know it sounds rather strange. I have been given a crate full of tea bags
to give out to people from where I use to work! Insanely they’re mostly ‘Sour Cherry’ ones…
I know a few people who have hugged me in the street having recieved one so, I thought why not keep doing
it as long as I have the tea bags.  So here you are here’s a cuppa on me! :D  That’s a public email that I use and
haven’t got anything personal on it, also I use a p o box for the majority of things.  I have been doing this for ohhh
over 2 years now and I am part of a Random Acts of Kindness movement so to speak (not as awful as that sounds!)
on www.kindspring.org I have put my email and p o box above so if you did want to, you don’t have to reply but
I have had some rather moving postcards from people thanking me for their tea bags (and also the books that I leave
around from where I work in a charity shop that are chucking them out!)

I ensure you I am genuinely here to just give you a free cup of tea on me, nothing else other
then of course if you wish to pay it forward to another person! :)

I hope you have a good day!

Bright Blessings,

Rae.

Sporks and Cups!

Dear Moonbeams, Sun beams and Tea lovers,

To say that it's been earth day dispite the random downpour that lasted thankfully only half an hour this morning...to help with Earth Day, not that I knew it at the time, mind you lol! I went to The Healing Clinic in York an Alternative Therapy clinic, I use to work at when it was opposite museum gardens.  Now moved to Merchent Gate in York, North Yorkshire, England, UK www.thehealingclinic.co.uk they had a little Sporks and Cups (will explain in a mo!) along side doing Open Studios an Event that is all around the city of York and surrounding Towns and Villages that companies and Artists open their doors and homes for people to brows their art work.

Open Studios - https://yorkopenstudios.co.uk/

A bit about the Healing Clinic where I use to work:

The Healing Clinic is a Community Interest Company  and we have provided a wide range of complementary therapies at reasonable rates since 1992 and offer our services to all ages, from pre-natal, ante-natal, through birthing assistance, to children, the elderly and all ages in between.

Directed by the lovely June Tranmer.

SPORKS! : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spork

The cups! OK HOPING This is going to save and publish this time!

HAPPY GREEN CUPS!

Today on Earth day when I finally figured it out when I bought it and June had told me! I did my bit for the planet and the world around me.

Ok so I asked on Facebook if people knew what a 'Spork' was most cheated which I quickly found out by searching on google!! tsk tsk! lol
https://www.facebook.com/raevienne/posts/1624465140983581?notif_id=1524417738016987&notif_t=visual_poll_vote_feedback&ref=notif   if you wanted to see that post haha!

(why fb has such long urls!)

Anyway it says on the little flyer you get with the spork and cup Today you are doing your bit to help the world around you.  By purchasing and using this cup and spork you are helping to reduce landflit and ocean pollution, planting trees and also giving a homeless person a warm comforting drink.  Now thats a really worth a big smiley face!

The shocking fact is that more than 3 billion disposable cups used in the uk each year are not recycled.  You can find more out on www.iamreusable.co.uk

HAPPY Earth Day!

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

https://www.earthday.org/about/the-history-of-earth-day/

So what on 'Earth' is Earth Day?...

Well according to Wikipedia, Earth day is the following:
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day events in more than 193 countries[1] are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network.[2]
On Earth Day 2016, the landmark Paris Agreement was signed by the United States, China, and some 120 other countries.[3][4][5] This signing satisfied a key requirement for the entry into force of the historic draft climate protection treaty adopted by consensus of the 195 nations present at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris.
In 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco, peace activist John McConnell proposed a day to honor the Earth and the concept of peace, to first be celebrated on March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. This day of nature's equipoise was later sanctioned in a proclamation written by McConnell and signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations. A month later a separate Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. Nelson was later awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom award in recognition of his work.[6] While this April 22 Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.[7][8]
Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on the environmental issues that the world faces. In 2017, the March for Science occurred on Earth day (April 22, 2017) and was followed by the People's Climate Mobilization (April 29, 2017).

Well that's the small print copy and pasted from Wikipedia but what does it mean to others or on different sites? More importantly what it means to you? Do you celebrate Earth day? Saving plastic bottles and the environment! It's a shame I see less and less recycling near where I live, the bins get over flowing with rubbish everywhere and sadly plastics flying about... I mean there's 2 big whopping bins on the corner why people can't use um!

#Payitforward No. 2 and No. 3!

Ok so i've done another 2 pay it forwards! So if you were in either the Curious Table and were the two ladies sat by the door that recieved a #Payitforward from me or the anyone picking one up from the Sugar Mouse both around 4:30pm today (Saturday 14th April 2018) I hope it made your day and you enjoyed it! Even though the second Sugar Mouse one might have been seen at by staff as I seem to know the staff more at Curious Table and they know what I do more there...

Despite going out with cold flu!! Ok, I don't know if that was the tempting karma of Friday 13th ...BUT just made one lady with her daughter happy and overwhelmed by giving them a tea bag and random letter to a stranger enclosed.  Although that wasn't it the pay it forward bit was £2 towards their bill so wonder what they will think about that! :D

SO IF YOUR THEM ENJOY AND HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!

POST DEDICATION - A Tesco Delivery Driver! Malcolm

Hello people of the Blogverse! :D

Ok, As I wanted my shoping to come tonight for cooking a batch cook as I've had to join slimming world to lose a bit of weight, I ordered my grocery shopping via www.tesco.com and had it delivered between one of the slots... the 8 - 9 pm slot which ok, cost me £5.00 but omg.... the delivery driver dispite getting completely lost in our estate full of flats as I run out waving are you for me (then obviously which number I was) ... Yup.... (I thought I apologised too much!) he drove in the parking spot outside my flat and said he'd never been here before... heavens forbids what other areas are like in cities!!

Anyway, getting to the bit why I've dedicated it to him.  (Prob spelt his name wrong I know it was that way pronounced anyway!) He then went through the substitutions like they do, and I was shocked they'd put a hot spicey salmon for one of my smoked salmon and I said that wouldn't be right with slimming world and if I could leave it out.  Well he was more than happy to show me through how it worked and after what must have been 10 God Bless'! and told me not to panic that it would be refunded into my account within 48hrs and all would be ok and he'd take some of the bags off me that I'd not want (the plastic carrier bags) wonder what happens if they re use them?

Anyway THANK YOU MALCOLM ... not sure if he'd ever seen this but, that was one of the most friendliest Tesco Delivery drivers let alone delivery drivers I've ever had!! wow made my day let alone week!!
