Rae's curiosities in the charity shop!

Curiocities whilst working in a charity shop!

Ok, don't get me wrong, who doesn't find strange things when you go into a local charity shop or thrift store! I work in one of our local quirky ones here in my town along with another one in another town.  There are just some interesting people that come in!!

Like the pin badge lady, the waitress in the local coffee shop that does them special little immaculate hearts in hot chocolates mmmm... and also the 50p lady that comes in changing her £1's for 50ps and finding the rarist and strangest looking ones...

Then there's the two 'Bosses' as I call them you know who you are that do them amazing displays with the teddy bears, kiddies toys and also to the one fellow employee that switches things round on different days (for fun) to see if people would notice... I'm going to nick name u all in a moment...and to the quirky customers that come in.

THIS IS FOR YOU LADIES AND GENTS, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY YEAR 2019 and not just my days whilst working at the charity shops!

Mollie, Little Mo, The 50p lady, Mr Switcharound, Pin badge lady, the heart of E'wold, the suceeders, Mr Nuts!....

To the best mumbles!...:D

Geocaching and the places it takes you

Geocaching and the places it takes you - Rae

Hi, Rae here again, ok so mostly it's me posting on this blog as the mad 'Bred in Yorkshire lass'... ok, well I can't say I was born up here as I was born further 'down south' of England, UK but that's for another story and blog post may be in the near distant future! ;) ... As ever my blog posts are as Random as ever, the most thing that's a bad thing, most think it's good... I'm not quite sure what to think of it... a Random crazy Brit that has so many questions for the world and also about the birds, nature, wildlife, geocaching and all other hobbies etc...etc... you know how it goes.  WARNING... my worst thing I ever have done was possibly learn to touch type! ... It drives people insane and sometimes it doesn't help with autocorrect ...

Thanks to Grammarly, (hey it didn't correct my spelling heh!) no this isn't sponcered but wow, wish it was! ;) I can't thank Grammarly enough for helping me through blog posts and possibly even more bloggers like me out there... anyway on to the topic! ...

GEOCACHING ... I went one Sunday afternoon, in fact it was last Sunday from the date on this blog post as I am sat here, hearing the 10pm church bells ring from one of the many churches here in my little town in the North of England... trying to post pictures of the rather curious photos that I took whilst experiencing 2 or maybe more of Thorpe Underwood and villages geocaches, up here in North Yorkshire, England, UK.... there are some strange caches out there that I've seen in the world mostly many of them are on videos and vlogs from famous cachers around the world. But there were two that I found in this perticular trail of caches, whom I can't name for privacy and geocaching etticate reasons!  These two were hard, sadly me and my poor step father whom I drag along with my mother, aunt and uncle.... A quick shout out to my Step dad Terry whom must be the worlds best non hardcore non purposely geocacher there ever was!! Also to my Father John for coping with my mad geocaching addiction and both for tramming me round on these mad experiences! I can't thank them both enough and poor mum Jenny! lol. BACK TO THE CACHE!! Don't get sidetracked Rae!! (Yes, there's a cache series called that also I'll link a cache event that i'm going to below.)

This one cache was where you had to fill it up with water and float the cache out although, the twits we were a. didn't ahve any water and b. by the time Rae had got to it not naming whom had decided to cheat  instead of filling one of the caches up with water and the other with sticks that you had to poke through holes to get it to the top....mind you DAYLIGHT WAS FADING and two cachers were adament to get the damn things done lol WE DO APOLOGISE!!! haha...  ahem... here are the pics!

There are some strange and interesting places that you would never have gone to if it wasn't for geocaching, one which led me to my mums birthday party... another to a little free library... another to very scenic places.
< Rae's healthy lunch though!!

Smile....Breathe...

Daily Intention from Mish on Kindspring.org

🙏”Smile, breathe and go slowly. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

✨“Ahhhh the essence of pure, radiant living. Smiling relieves tension and lifts hearts, breathing is the one thing we can actually control and deep breathing has so many benefits. Slow down, don’t rush so fast. Take your time. Enjoy your life. Whatever is worrying you right now, let it go. Take a deep breath and acknowledge that things will get better. Stay in the present for it is the only moment available to us and it is the door to all other moments. Regard it deeply, preciously.” ✨~ Amy Waltz

Brownies, Tea, Freddos and happy Tourist Information Customers

Tuesday 9th July 2019 between 12- 12:40pm and 1pm and 5pm

Rae's Tuesday Random Acts

Brownies, Cuppas, Freddos and Malteasers!

My day started at the coffee morning I run with my mum and our friend Ms W up at the local residential home in my town.  This is where the first Random Act comes into place... it started with my friend Anne and 'The Capri Sun Lady' (names in this blog will be changed as cannot say their real names but they'll know whom they are!!) gave me advice when giving teas and coffees out to the fellow 'residents' there.  One person had come in and started clicking their fingers ordering a cuppa and when it had come said it wasn't right.  Anyway cutting a long story short The Capri Sun lady and Ms W then helped me with calming her down and getting her another cup of coffee! Thanks to them I don't know what I would have done... I was then invited by The Capri Sun lady and another lady who we will name her ... Ms Coffee as she likes her coffees! Well I sat with Ms Coffee and The Capri Sun lady (ok sorry I hope your all following this lol) for a nice chicken dinner lunch!  Which only cost £8.25 which wasn't bad!

The next was me doing Random Acts to 4 ladies and 1 gent in our local tourist office... I blame my friend Sarah for that one! She likes chocolate so here we go I go and think why not give out malteasers and a chocolate bar ... couldnt find right ones so I go and buy 6 Freddos the normal original ones... and 2 boxes of malteasers.  After saying to the cashier at our local newsagents bless them that it wasn't all for me and also it didn't help me coming out and there was my Slimming World consultant 'Ms Slim' (these slimming world consultants here are so well dressed and it seems they look a bit like air stewardesses! ) haha... I gave away 1 box of chocolate and some freddos to them also to my friend Sarah.

The next one was three brownies to my friends Jax and Sarah (yes she likes her chocolate hehe)

The one after was to the 2 Costa employees in our town...having gone in and seen it empty

The second to last was the meal with my friend and also meeting and getting cheered up by 'Mr and Mrs Poppy' a couple that come into the St Leonards Charity shop I work at every Monday and Friday (If your in my town and know where I am come and pop in and say hi!)

THE LAST was me helping my friend home and posting two birthday cards on the way with gift cards in for 'Mrs Knit' and 'Mrs Allotment' :D

Lumie the June/July Dog of the month! :D

Dog of the Month

Lumie

The June / July doggie of the month is Lumie the Pug. Lumie and her owner came up to the coffee morning that my mum Jenny runs on a Tuesday morning. Lumie looked adorable sat on the lap of her owners and one of the ladies that come to the coffee morning I’ve nicknamed ‘The Capri Sun Lady’  thought her adorable as did the other ladies and gents there.

If you want your doggie to be 'Dog of the Month' on my blog send your entries to raevienne.hewitt@gmail.com with a picture of him or her, short description on what they like to do and their best activities even if it is sleeping! ... and also what you would like me to put on the blog if you want me to mention the owners in it too!  Also I do cat of the month too! Send your emails me with the subject <dog (or cat) of the Month on blog >
